Honorary Lecturer Sydney Nursing School University of Sydney

Clare is a New Zealand trained nurse and midwife whose nursing work has been in hospitals, in the community and around the world at sea.

Her interest in nursing at the First World War has grown from researching the history of the Karitane Mothercraft Society in New South Wales.
Elizabeth McMillan, one of the first Australian nurses to go overseas to the war, set up Sydney's Karitane Home.

In 2015, Clare led an Aegean voyage to commemorate the ANZAC nurses of the First World War. She divides her time between a home on the West Coast and nursing history research in Sydney.
