Came to NZ as a young lad. Educated at Wellington College and Otago University, before proceeding to Edinburgh University to complete his medical studies.
Appointed House Surgeon, Wellington Hospital in 1903 – the Hospital’s first such appointment in Newtown.
Honorary Visiting Surgeon, Wellington Hospital 1914 – 1928
Knighted in 1936
