Kenneth Rees-Thomas
Initially trained in pharmacy, but on the advice of E Gordon Anderson, switched to medicine.
HS/HP, Wellington Hospital 1935. Locum GP, Newtown 1936 with part-time appointment in Wellington Hospital Children’s Wards.
Went to England 1937. Worked at West London Hospital, Guy’s Hospital, and St Peter’s Hospital for stone.
Returned to Wellington 1939, joining Alan Tennant in practice in Hataitai, combining general practice with surgery.
Anaesthetic Registrar, Wellington Hospital 1939 – 1940
Assistant General Surgeon, Wellington Hospital 1941 – 1942 and 1945 – 1946
Visiting Surgeon, Wellington Hospital 1948 – 1968
