WW2 service with the NZMC in the Pacific
On discharge from the Army, he was appointed to the Eye, ENT Department, Auckland Hospital
Postgraduate study at the Oxford Eye Hospital, working under Professor Ida Mann
Returned for a short time to Auckland
Moved to Wellington joining in practice Walter Hope-Robertson in 1949
Visiting Ophthalmic Surgeon, Wellington Hospital 1950 – 1966
Honorary Visiting Ophthalmic Surgeon, Home of Compassion Hospital, Calvary and Karitane Hospitals
Ophthalmic Advisor, Health Department 1954 – 1966
When poor health intervened, he moved back to Auckland, undertaking P/T private practice and running Eye OP clinics at Auckland Hospital
