Practised as an Ophthalmologist in Gisborne, 1952 – 1959
Member of the Ophthalmological Society of NZ 1948 – 1959
Resident in NSW from 1959 where David was appointed foundation Professor of Veterinary Medicine, University of Sydney.
Moved to Fraser, Australian Capital Territory in the late 1960s or early 1970s.
