Dr Michael Harrison

Michael trained in the UK in anaesthesia.   He spent ten years there as a specialist in anaesthesia and intensive care, and in academia, before moving to New Zealand in 1987.   As an anaesthetist in Auckland he continued research in collaboration with Auckland University and with The Institute of Biomedical Technologies (IBTec), AUT.

The following five years were spent in Wellington (CCDHB and the University of Otago). His main interest is the enhancement of intra-operative diagnosis using computational methods.

He has co-authored several anaesthesia textbooks and has two self-published books on the work of British academic anaesthetists, 1950-2000.
