Born Holyhead, Wales October 1872 Died Wellington 2 Oct 1935
Educated at Victoria College, Manchester and at St Thomas’s Hospital, London
HS positions at the Manchester Royal Infirmary and at the Bootle General Hospital in Lancashire
Then worked as a ship’s surgeon, making four trips East, before coming to NZ as ship’s surgeon on the RMS ‘Gothic’ in 1900
Practised initially in Otaki. Returned to England in 1907 for postgraduate training, attending a course at the West London Hospital
On return to NZ, settled in Wellington, acquiring a large general practice, in which he specialised in obstetrics and abdominal surgery.
Honorary physician, Wellington Hospital 1915 – 1916, and 1919 – 1920
