Then set up in general practice in Taranaki
Superintendent, Opunake Hospital
Moved to Wellington in 1937 to take over a general practice, which he ran until his retirement in 1975
He combined general practice with a large component of both obstetrics and anaesthesia.
Visiting Anaesthetist, Wellington Hospital 1938 – 1975
Visiting Anaesthetist, Calvary Hospital, the Home of Compassion and other private hospitals in Wellington
Postgraduate study in 1950 at Johns Hopkins Hopsital, Baltimore, where he held the position of Anaesthetist. On his return, he was one of the first to introduce epidural block in NZ
