Educated in France. When his father retired from the Indian Medical Service, the family moved to Sydney, and after his father’s death, they moved to England.
Studied tropical diseases in London, before coming to NZ in 1904
Honorary Surgeon, Wellington Hospital 1908 – 1912
Sportsman, boxing referee, and musician
In earlier years known as “Napier McLean”.
Latterly, known as Allister Napier-Maclean”
