Walter Robertson
WW1 service with NZMC, following which he did postgraduate work in England before returning to NZ, to an appointment at the Trentham Military Camp. There he was involved with the rehabilitation of returned soldiers.

Rejoined staff of Wellington Hospital 1939 – 1945
In 1945 – 46 he spent 1 year in China training others in orthopaedics, under the auspices of UNRA
Director of Orthopaedics, Wellington Hospital 1947 – 1954
Title changed to Director of Physical Medicine from October 1951
Honorary Orthopaedic Consultant, Indian Leprosy Mission 1955 – 1956
