Educated at Penrith High School, and at Edinburgh University
Worked as an assistant in a practice in Bury, Lancashire, before obtaining a HP post at the Royal Free Hospital in London in 1905
Emigrated to NZ in 1907, settling in Newtown, Wellington, where he developed a busy general practice.
Honorary Consulting Physician to the Home of Compassion 1907 – 1925
Honorary Physician, Wellington Hospital 1912 – 1925
Honorary Visiting Cardiologist, Wellington Hospital 1925 – 1940
Enlisted with NZMC, departing for Egypt in June 1915. Thereafter were spells at Brockenhurst as Officer Commanding No 1 New Zealand General Hospital, and to Etaples in France.
