Educated at Wanganui Collegiate, Otago University
In 1914, when a medical student, he joined the NZMC and saw action in Gallipoli
He then returned to NZ to complete his medical studies
In 1917, he went to France as a MO with an Artillery Unit
Postgraduate studies in England 1918 – 1921
Practised in Hamilton 1921 – 1927
Postgraduate studies in USA 1927, where he held a Rockefeller Scholarship at the Children’s Hospital in Boston. Also travelled to England and Europe.
On return to NZ, set up practice as a children’s specialist in Wellington
Senior Visiting Physician, Wellington Children’s Hospital 1934 – 1939
Enlisted at the beginning of WW2, and saw action in the Middle East.
Died of typhus infection.
